| Hike Summary: | This is a very scenic loop hike near Tampa off the Little Manatee River. It meanders through a varied habitat. I hike this trail a few times a year. This trip I spent overnight in Feb( I think) of 2004. We had endured our bad hurricane season and the trail had been just recently reopened. This trip we had a few wet crossings. A bridge that crosses a creek was submerged and I had to ferry my daughter over, hoping I would not step off the bridge. We had an exciting cottonmouth encounter at another wet crossing. |
