| Hike Summary: | *Note- Permit must be received by 2 pm at the Park Office in order to hike this trail. The trail begins at the Hike Inn parking area at the top of Amicalola Falls. Lime green rectangular blazes mark the trail. The trail briefly joins with the blue-blazed Approach Trail to Springer Mountain, the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. This 4.9 mile trail winds through small streams and ridges. The trail ends at the Len Foote Hike Inn. Reservations for the Inn are strongly encouraged before arrival. Drinks are available to day hikers for a nominal fee. You may return the same way you hiked up or you can take the AT approach trail back down, however, that trail is approximately 7 miles. |
