Hike Summary: This is a great little hike with spectacular vistas of off the Colorado plains stretching up to the foot of the Front Range. Devil's Head is one of the highest points on the Rampart Range and has an actively manned fire lookout tower. Hikers can climb the metal tower and go in the tower and visit with the Ranger when manned. Spectacular 360 degree view from the tower. Hikers can sign the guest log and get a dated certificate from the Ranger verifying you made the hike and climbed the tower. Almost 1000 ascent in just under 2 miles, so it can be a bit of a climb, especially if you are not adjusted to the 9000 foot altitude...but worth it any season! My kids even did the climb when they were barely 5 years old.
