| Hike Summary: | Paynes Prairie is a unique place to hike. In addition to our normal Florida wildlife, there are bison and wild horses out here. I hiked this trail in August of 02. It was plenty hot and unshaded. But there were gators along side the trail. I also saw wild fox and the wild horses came out on the trail the day I was there. There are several other short distance trails in the park. William Bartram visited and wrote about this area. |
