Hike Summary: | A.L. Burruss Nature Park is a city park located in Marietta, GA near Life University and the Dobbins Air Force Base. The main trail leaves the parking area and after a short distance intersects with the green, blue, and red trails which can be used to explore the park. All of these trails are in a hardwood forest and are short trails. From the parking area, take the main trail 0.33 mile miles to a wooden bridge over a stream which marks the beginning of the 0.4 mile red trail. You can follow the short loop to return to the bridge, then pick up the 0.19 mile Blue trail which returns to the main trail. Follow it a short distance and you'll see the 0.15 mile green trail that loops back to the parking area. You can explore the entire park with this route. There is a pavilion and some picnic tables located in the park and the main trail is available for hiking, running, and off-road biking. There is also a spur trail near the wooden bridge that leads to to Life University - so the trails are frequently used by students and military personnel from the nearby Dobbins Air Force base. The trails are open during daylight hours but close at dusk. |
