I did three forks to Sarvis Gap the 1st week of October and it was pretty tough. I did about 10 miles of the DRT section in the dark and had very little trouble spotting the blazes with my led head light(I am not recommending to take any hike in the dark for if you were to get off the trail you may be lost for days). BMT has more blazes than the DRT but the DRT has new bright blue nail on blazes…which may or may not still be there when you decide to attempt the challenge. I recommend that you get physically prepared and don’t plan to move very quickly. The peaks and valleys will break you down if you don’t pace yourself. If you give youself plenty of time, are well prepared and make sure you take in the beauty of the journey then you should be just fine I used the trail map from this site and it seemed very accurate. https://n2backpacking.com/maps/georgia/duncan/Duncan%20Ridge%20Detail%20Map.JPG
Hope you enjoy. Feel free to ask any specific questions. I plan to do the other half eventually. Will let you know how that goes when I attempt it.
