I agree, everyone would be a good reason. There’s nothing better than getting away from my crazy daily schedule like hangin around a campfire, miles away from anything civilzed.

There is a trail close to my grandparents lake house that has a spring about 75 feet up the bluffs from the lake and there are about five waterfalls coming down the side that are beautiful. one of the biggest reasons I go to the house on the weekends is for teh mornign runs i get on that trail.

So far that is my fave, but i have never done a canyon or summit hike before. My first summit hike is coming up in April.

I somewhat agree with rewarding points based on posts only becuase it may spark more conversation. Word of mouth is a powerful way to advetise and draw in more members which I think would eventually lead to more and more posts and hikes.

Personally I was pleased when I first discoverecd the site only becuase it was one of the first that did not ask for a credit card number to become a member. And when i discovered the forums I had to sign up right away.

Great site in my opinion, keep up the good work and I look forward to staying a member for years to come.

I once saw a family of five otters feeding in a spring during a morning run at a park in southern Missouri. Very cool!

I am also new to this site and inexperienced.

I have the pack and have researched for the right equipment. I am planning a trip in May but am unsure as to where to go. I live in mid-Missouri and am willing to go as far as 500 miles away. Any suggestions?
