AS much as I’d love to see that book put onto the big screen i also wonder what’ll happen to the trail as we all know it. I mean, will it end up with litter everywhere, gear strewn about. I mean it would be good for the AT to get some publicity, but if this movie were to be made you have to wonder about the impact as every tom dick and harry set off on thier own “Walk in the Woods”

I haven’t used the shuttle service from BMO but the outfitters are a great help and I’d expect the same out of their shuttle service

The A.T. is not that desolate place to begin with. however the “100 mile wilderness” in maine is great, no road crossings for 100 miles with all the lakes and ponds you can handle. There in not usually a shortage of people there however unless you decide to hike it in the winter.

I was there this year and it was a great time. The locals seem to enjoy it to or at least they think to themselves “it will all be over in a day or two”

haha, this is a great topic. This year on my thru-hike of the At i only showered @ Kinkora and in Pearisburg before getting a room in Glasgow, Va 770 miles in. after that it was too hot and i was showering about every 7-10 days!
