Leave No Trace Trainer Course | Brevard , NC
When: Friday July 25th, through Sunday July 27th Where: Friday 7:00-9:00 pm at Brevard Rock Gym for an informational and planning session; Saturday and Sunday in Pisgah National Forest. On Sunday the course will conclude at 4:00pm.
Who: Individuals with some camping and/or backpacking experience.
Cost: $65.00 The cost covers course materials and meals with the exception of lunch for Saturday and Sunday, which the participant should bring.
Description: This course is set up to inform and inspire the outdoor enthusiasts on the principals and ethical decisions needed to enjoys the outdoors in a manner that leaves minimal human impact on our natural environment. Participants will be instructed on the 7 principals of Leave No Trace, as well as given an opportunity to practice teaching one of these principals to their peers. The weekend time frame allows ample time for experiential teaching methods, discussions and question. Upon completion of this course participants will be certified Leave no Trace Trainers. Trainers are prepared to facilitate Leave no Trace awareness workshops.
Gear: Participants should bring there own gear for an overnight backpacking trip. (Backpack, tent, sleeping bag, pad, water bottles, clothing, rain gear) Group stoves and iodine for water purification will be provided. For gear questions please call Chrissy at 251- 259-8076.
