Trip Report: If I don't have the flu after this hike I'll buy stock in those flu inhalers they give us every year. Great solo hike but the weather was crap. Of course the family laughed at me when I said I was still going to do this one. Just about everyone tried to talk me out of it but after seeing Fall Creek Falls in less than dramatic display, I wanted to see some water tumbling from above. I got me wish though I'm not sure if there was more from the fall or more from the sky hitting me. FYI, those lightly insulated yellow rainsuit pants they sell at Wal Mart definitely work very well.

Gear review:

Yellow insulated rainpants at Wal Mart - Got hot on the legs but kept me dry.

Boots- Cabellas Goretex Hi toppers, 4 yrs old, never been treated with anything, socks only very slightly damp in right boot.

Jacket: The North Face Core 3 in 1- Wore the included fleece liner, was a bit warm on the way down but it's meant for cold weather, this is Summer weather where I'm going to in NY. Absolutely loved it.

Great hike, rated 4 stars for the rush of being in a good storm with a great waterfall and sights. This is a definite repeat hike I'll be doing everytime. Would have been 5 *'s if the flowers were blooming.
