Trip Report: 6/28/99: The Joker cruised over about 9:30am. The Pixie rolled home, then The Joker and I met The Ox at Deacon’s house in Marietta after we dropped my car off for a new brake job. Drove to Cohutta Wilderness Area by noon and hiked about 2+ miles to a cool river campsite. Swam around in the creek/river for most of the afternoon and tried some trout fishing. Deacon’s dog, Memphis, was all about the water. Followed the creek to a waterfall/cave that swam into which was very cool. The Ox took the lead. Random domestic dogs were cruising around but harmless. Had a roaring fire tonight, and hung around it until midnight.

6/29/99: Packed up by 10am then fished for a couple hours for trout. Caught two fish, and landed one rainbow trout. It was the first trout that I remember catching in Georgia or anywhere else. Hit the trail for the trip out at noon. The hike was uphill this time – a 500 foot climb and it took an hour to get to the car. Drove to a DQ on the way home and had a feast with The Ox, The Joker. Deacon left earlier since he had to get home. Made it to Atlanta by 4:30pm. Stopped briefly w/ The Joker at the Sports Authority after dropping The Ox off at Deacon’s house.
