Hike Summary: | Make sure to check if the road is open before you go. Weather makes the dates to go change. When I did this hike I went alone and saw no one. It was amazing. There is only a few parking spots too which is nice. The trail is easy to follow and it is an out and back trail. The best time to go is after winter when the water flow is strong but anytime is really fine. You can sit and enjoy a light lunch and play on the rocks near the waterfall. There is also a abandoned adit of the Silver King Mine burrows into the cliff on the right side of the falls and is now blocked by a bat gate. But you can still see them and some mine 'rubble' as I call it. Gorgeous place that is nice when you want out of the city. Also on the drive there you will notice places to camp and day areas so if you have time make it an all day adventure and check out North Fork Rd. Many people don't realize how great it is out there since many miss it traveling to Central Oregon to the Valley. Enjoy!! |
