Hike Summary: | I absolutely love Kennesaw Mountain. It can be as easy and as strenuous as you like. Regardless of which trail you take, It is not a pushover mountain. It has wonderful views of not only Kennesaw,Ga but on a clear day all of Atlanta, Dunwoody, and Vinings GA. You can also see Stone mountain from the top. The trail my wife and I love to take is starting on the side trail off to the left of the Park Services Building. We follow the trail all the way to the back of Little Kennesaw Mountain (Don't be fooled by the name its in my opinion worse than big Kennesaw), scale what seems to be sheer cliff, and up and over to the top of Big Kennsaw, finishing where most people start at the Park Services Building. It is a trek that I recommend a good bit of water if you are caring any kind of weight. I usually go with a 20 lbs pack to workout, but its not nearly as bad without the extra weight, though you will still need a decent amount of water. |
