Hike Summary: Several options of hiking from 1.5 miles to 12 miles due to connector trails. The trail follows Kentucky Lake around canal to Lake Barkley then back to North Welcome Center. Backpacking camp permit is required. Camping is allowed anywhere 50 feet from trail or 200 feet from Trace or cementaries. Alot of great views of the lakes with ups and downs of the hills. KY Lake side is difficult and Lake Barkley side is moderate. Several hikers and bikers use the trail.
