I am not sure what temperature is optimal for my refrigerator. Sometimes the food freezes, sometimes it spoils faster. I want to set the temperature so that the equipment works economically and efficiently. Tell me, should I rely on the manufacturer’s recommendations or are there any proven tips?

The correct temperature affects not only the freshness of your food, but also the lifespan of the motor. The article https://www.urbansplatter.com/2025/06/5-simple-maintenance-tips-to-extend-your-refrigerators-life/ recommends setting the refrigerator to +2 °C and the freezer to -18 °C. I use a separate thermometer because the built-in sensors may show inaccurate values. I check the temperature once a month, especially in the summer. If it is higher than normal, the motor starts working non-stop, which leads to wear. Sometimes I notice that the refrigerator is “driving” the cold too much – then I adjust the settings a little to reduce the load. This approach helps preserve food longer and saves energy. I advise not to overload the freezer so that the temperature is distributed evenly. This simple rule makes the equipment more reliable.

The correct temperature inside the refrigerator and freezer is important for maintaining the freshness of food and the energy efficiency of the equipment. Too high or low a temperature can lead to spoilage of food or excessive energy consumption. The optimal parameters recommended by manufacturers help maintain a stable microclimate inside and protect the equipment from wear.
