Hi all! I recently came across information about height adjustable desks from ProgressiveDesk. This caught my attention as I work from home and often experience back pain due to long hours sitting at a computer. Height adjustable desks are great, but are there any real benefits to using them? For example, how noticeable is the effect on health and productivity? I have heard that they can really improve your well-being, but I am not sure if they are worth the investment. Has anyone tried them and can you tell me how they work in practice?

I can share my experience, as I buy standing desk with height adjustment from https://www.progressivedesk.com/ . When I first started working from home, the problems with back and neck pain became obvious, and at first I didn’t think that it could be somehow fixed with the help of furniture. I was skeptical, thinking that this was another marketing ploy, but now that I use such a desk, I can say that the difference is colossal. Basically, I began to feel fatigue in my back much less often, and the pain that used to appear in the evening has almost disappeared. When I worked at a regular desk, it was quite monotonous – you sit, do not move and just work. My desk now allows you to change your position during the day, which, in my opinion, is one of the main advantages. At first it was unusual, because it is not always comfortable to stand all the time, but in practice I noticed that changing your posture helps relieve tension and restore strength. For example, when I work standing up, I feel more energy, and when I need to concentrate, I switch to a sitting position and get deeper into the task. This, of course, does not mean that I stand all day – I alternate positions. And this constant transition from a sitting position to a standing position allows my body not to stagnate. This, in my opinion, significantly reduces the load on the spine and generally contributes to overall well-being.

I also thought about this topic because I have been working from home for several years now and also often feel tired and uncomfortable. I can’t say that I am very bothered by back pain, but I still feel a little tension, especially after long hours of sitting at the computer. I saw several reviews on the Internet about height-adjustable desks and the impressions were generally positive. What particularly interested me was the ability to combine sitting and standing work. This should certainly be good for your health. However, it seems to me that it is important to properly organize the workplace as a whole: the chair, the position of the monitor, even the lighting.
