Hike Summary: This park was disgusting to say it nicely. The whole atmosphere of the place felt like a party among family members – like you had invaded someone’s family reunion. Anyway, the Riparian Trail…. was supposed to be 6 miles out and 6 back. Well we only made it about 1-1/2 miles, maybe, and the first part of that is actually the Boardwalk trail (which you are required to take to get to the Riparian). The Riparian supposedly runs along a creek. It was absolutely dreadful. The trail had not been taken care of at all. We made multiple attempts to stick with it and find the trail after we kept losing it due to the overgrowth. We gave up. I hate to admit defeat, but the Riparian won and we left, drove home. Will never return and would never recommend. Probably wouldn't recommend this part of the state anyway, but we wanted to try something new – new isn't always better. More at tammyonthetrail.com
