Hike Summary: This trail is an easy hike along the tops of ridges, with great views of the surrounding mountains during the winter. At roughly 1.5 miles, the trail splits. Take the left to the observation platform overlooking the 400' waterfall. From the prior split, you can take the right and walk around 2 miles to the suspension bridge over the waterfall.

Another option instead of backtracking is to make a loop. The trail continues over the suspension bridge and descends down to Matthews Creek, passing by a cliff face called the Cathedral. From Matthews Creek, the trail intersects with the Dismal Trail. This trail is a climb of 1500' in about a mile and reconnects with the Raven Cliff trail. This option is much more difficult than backtracking so be aware of the extra time it may take.
