From US Hwy 64, turn right onto SR 1690, 5.7 miles north of the US 64/North Carolina 28 junction in Highlands. From Cashiers, take US 64 and turn left onto SR 1600 about 4 miles south of town. The junction is marked by a Forest Service sigh that reads VISTA POINT/WHITESIDE MOUNTAIN. Take SR 1690 for 1 mile to a left turn into a parking area with pit toilets.
