I agree, hate how they look but considering i'm usually covered in mud by the end of a hike it really doesn't matter and they do the job.

Looking for a dog friendly trail to do in East Tn or North Ga that is also friendly to 6 yr old kids. Any suggestions? Maybe something near Tellico Plains.

We now have a Choc Lab and it's really disappointing to not be able to take her on some of these trails. I've had a sort of change of mind on this topic. I might suggest a stop by the Ranger office just to ask about Bear activity and hunters. We did Cherokee this past weekend and got very good information as usual from the Rangers.
