Hike Summary: Alamo Canyon is also were Alamogordo runs it water pipe line down the mountain. The trail is marked with trail numbers they just slip my mind at this time. The start is a bit tough but once you get on the lip of the canyon the trail levels out. I hear the trail is going to be connected to the Cloudcroft Rails Trail via westside road. Then we will have a gaint loop trail that will be nice. I dont know of any water sources on the trail. So bring your own.

I’ve only been about 4 miles up 2 different canyons here, plus over the mesa top and enjoyed all of them. The trip report above says “The start is a bit tough” but the start is flat and either in or beside the arroyo, so I’m not clear what the hiker was referring to.
